Archer is back from his hiatus, and you may have seen his note that continued development of the new Nexus platform will be underway in the coming month of December.
We hope to have things in order for a beta release soon. As a timeframe reference, we are looking at weeks, not months. It could be as soon as the new year. No promises, of course. You never know exactly what might be ahead that could slow things down.
This is just a heads up that our domain name has been transferred to our hosting panel for this site. There should not be any downtime since previous domain hosting was on a sister site of Tierra.
However, if you do find the forum inaccessible in the next little while, it is likely that the domain is re-propagating related to the transfer.
Amazingly, myBB's default theme is not mobile responsive, nor do they offer one that is. Rumors are that the next update will include mobile responsiveness in the default theme, but that's too late for us. We need to move ahead.
I've been working on making a version of our theme that is mobile responsive and have been building it on a bootstrap, table-less theme that seemed to have the kind of features and flexibility we need. FlexPN is intended to be our default theme for this forum. The others eventually will be retired.
It's a learning curve, figuring out how to work with the bootstrap buttons and learning the whole myBB system at the same time, but I'm slowly getting there.
FlexPN still has a few bugs, but I was able to fix the major problem, which was a glitch in the log in system that would not allow your login operation to complete. So for now, in case there are still login problems, I'm leaving the other themes in the changer so you can switch if for some reason you still can't log in on FlexPN.
Please post any feedback, comments, function issues or bug reports here while I continue to sort things out.
Some index links will be dead or just lead back to the index. That is fine for now, as we don't have the system pages up yet for them to link to. But all will happen in good time.
Known issues:
- smilies jumble left on the full reply screen
- if you add a spoiler title that contains an apostrophe, the spoiler won't open
- On last post in topic: Full Edit link is wonky. Play with your cursor until the hover background appears, then click it. It's kind of like playing whack-a-mole.
The migrations for ZB to TaT have begun. I have no idea when PN will be in the queue, but I've poked together an approximation of our theme colors (Transition) for when that happens, and our original board will become an archive, but still open in some fashion.
We will use this board as our new support board for PN2.0. When our new iteration is ready to go, it will be a completely new system and will need all new documentation. Its a big job, so we really can't predict a launch date at this time. What we will do is work on a new look, and a new vision for PN.
We can start gathering anyone interested. It looks like our random posters have mostly moved on, so I don't expect this to be a lively place. But it can be fun to be in on the building of something new, so I'm looking forward to some brainstorming sessions that could help shape our future.
