Sandy, it is being advertised. For one thing it’s on twitter. For another ,every user who has the nexus bar installed, is advertising it. All the bots that visit advertise it. It IS being advertised.
As for the subject of phpBB..grrrrr. The permissions!! gahhhhh! How anyone works them out is beyond me. Terrible. Nope...glad I’m with myBB, not the free one either. You get more with the downloaded version and paid for hosting...with....the awesome Skyon Archer! I mean who else...

Twitters only a live feed from here, just like facebook, like a truckload of other people I don't use places like Twitter or the like.. How are we advertising Nexus by having the bar? There's no ad for nexus on it, I doubt if most members on all the various sites see the bar while they're posting, the bar on my site is so small it can barely be read by most people..
MYBB is also difficult, I've now built about 5 sites and am still finding it hard to remember where some things are.. I tried using the PHP sites free test forum for about 5 days and still hadn't got my head round the ACP, I gave up trying to even do something basic like make a new section or category, damned if I know gow some have built whole sites on PHP..

It says...powered by nex ads bottom right of the bar. Personally I find myBB easy to use, but if you really are having trouble, take a look at forumotion. Four different types of board to use from,a ton of themes to use...for a free forum its not too bad.
Agree with phpBB. It will remain a mystery to me how people work anything out in the acp. Some is easy enough but the permissions do my head in..plus actually making forums..really complicated. myBB is simple in that regard.
The nex bar advertises your site on every other site that has it installed. Plus, if you joined other sites you could advertise it in your siggy and in the affiliate section a lot of forums have.
I use the promotional siggies Skyon made for my site on every site I post on.

Sandy, the footer bar has an icon on the left hand side that links to the My Page of the member who is displaying the footer bar.
The footer bar has a "Powered by NexAds" on the right hand side and the word NexAds links to Planet Nexus.
On the very far right is an icon that links to the user control panel at NexAds. If the person that clicks it doesn't have the Planet Nexus logged in cookie then they are redirected to the sign up page of NexAds.
Each link on the bar goes through Planet Nexus. Example link:
So just the bar itself has many items linking to Planet Nexus.
Now, if a member has added any additional ads, that's more links to Planet Nexus.
For instance, at the bottom of Spice's and Jane's forums, there are larger ads for member sites. These larger ads not only have content about our member sites, there are links back to Planet Nexus NexAds.
Example image ad:
Example text ad:
Each larger ad have visual cues to Planet Nexus and links back to Planet Nexus.
So, the more members that put advertisements on their sites means the more advertisement Planet Nexus gets.

What is it about myBB you find difficult? IMHO it’s easy peasy...far easier than phpBB thats for sure. You need a degree in astrophysics to work the acp out...

After sites like ZB it's difficlt remembering where things are if they aren't used on a regular basis, then there's things like adding themes, I haven't figured that out, or adding codes..
I wouldn't get a PHP site if you paid me, not after trying their test forum for 4 or 5 days, I hadn't figured anything at in that time and I've got a good stubborn streak if I decide to..

You need to browse the themes, download one to your pc,then go to upload themes and upload it from your pc.
For me it’s different because I do things like that and add smileys from the hosting panel. With forummotion you wouldn't have to do that...just click on a theme and its there. No point carrying on with myBB if you cant get on with it.
