More quoting problems.... -

I'm not sure why, but I'm unable to quote at present.. I click the quote button and get a message in the quick reply saying "You have one or more posts to quote, Quote these posts now or deselect them". Can the quote system be changed? It seems it doesn't work in Firefox.. IMO it was good when clicking on the quote button brought that post down automagically into a new post and we just add our bit.. I'm using the latest firefox btw..

Try deselecting anything selected in the thread before quoting again.
Its likely that if you go back through the pages of this thread, you'll find some quote buttons that have a bright red circle icon showing on the quote button. You can mass "deselect" them this way:
To do that, go to your fast reply boxs and click the words "deselect them" that you mentioned seeing in the Quick Reply box. That is the link that will let you start over. Then refresh the page and all should be well again.
Its probably just a matter of getting used to the way this forum system handles multiquotes.

How to Quote
1. On the post you want to quote, look for the quote button at the bottom of the row:
2. Click on the quote button and you will see that it changes appearance, it will now show a red circle with white slash:
3. Scroll down to the Fast Reply and you'll see this message:
4. Click on the "Quote these posts now" link:
5. Once you do, the above line will be removed and replaced with the quoted post ready for posting:

What a hassle to quote, the old way of clicking the quote and having that post appear in the message box is much better IMO..

It is one more click, granted. But it also lets you clear your quotes without having to highlight and delete, so its a tradeoff of sorts.

I haven't figured out this quote system properly, I must admit to liking the old zetaboards quoting though, old brains and such..

Okay, Sandy, just click the
"Reply button in the members post you want to quote. This will open the posting page with that members post inserted and you can make you reply.
The Quote button is really to quote multiple replies at one time.

That works for some reason, and I should be quoting.. All good as long as this keeps working though..

I'm still wondering if my site would be better on MyBB or not, I'm still getting used o Jcink though, haven't figured how to mass email from there yet, so I suspect I may have even more problems here..

Our version of MyBB is self hosted. If you want something like this, you would have to purchase a hosting account (we recommend our good friends at Tierra Hosting) and then learn how to work it.
I think you are better off with jCink, as it is more familiar (read--more like ZB), free, and there is a good support available for it.
You are right about the mass email. It is way more complicated on MyBB.
