RE: RANDOM comments - Sandy - 03-24-2020

One problem with that good idea Skyon, it could be a year or more before things get back to some kind of normality round the world, that and everyone's being told no bulk buying.. We'll more than likely be going on to level 4 tonight,(wednesday.) after only going onto level 3 on monday, so it'll be essential services only here tomorrow.. As of yesterday midday we had 192 confirmed cases and about 12 recovered, no deaths as yet thankfully..

My Doctor had to remind me I was a high risk person last friday, I will and am taking some precautions, but folk like myself and the elderly will likely still get it no matter how careful we are, if we're in the wrong place at the wrong time we'll more than likely get it so I'll carry on doing the essential things irrespective of the alert level..

I'll be happy when this coronavirus mess goes away. I'm fed up with it already.

What happened to the good ol' days of Trump's crazy, border crossings, fires, earthquakes and the typical news of the day?!

RE: RANDOM comments - Helena - 03-25-2020

Yes, isn't it amazing that there is no other news in the world except virus related stories.

What happened to all the hate crimes, celebrity gossip and other disasters that we are usually bombarded with? We are at the mercy of those who decide what the news is.

RE: RANDOM comments - Sandy - 03-25-2020

Agreed, most of the news here is Covid 19 or related, there's precious little other news at present and things are still happening like Nth Korea firing more missiles.. IMO this is going to be a problem for the next year I suspect, it'll likel take that long before the world can start returning to normal, there's no vaccine for Covid and won't be for the better part of a year, so it'll continue being a problem until then, hopefully those of us that're still alive will get vaccinated and hopefully we can be rid of it..

I'm a high risk person so chances are I'll get it even though I'm being pretty careful, a vaccine in 12 months won't be of much help to me or the elderly who are just at risk, if I get it I'm dead, some folk may well be pleased of that fact, I've got a few things left on my bucket list so I'll be a stubborn old scotsman and stay around just to spite, lol..

Day two of level 4 here and it's a nice autumn day, it seems we'll get a nice 26 degrees today, rather a pity I'm stuck at home like most of the rest of the country, it'd be nice to get out and enjoy the last of the good weather for sme time, still needs mus I guess..

Morning.

Hope everyone is ok. Lockdown here in the UK. gotta have  a GOOD reason to go out or else the police can arrest you!

Weather is as gloomy as the news lol. Stay safe everyone

RE: RANDOM comments - Sandy - 03-28-2020

Been in lockdown here since wednesday night, same thing, only go out for essential things like groceries or the chemist.. sunday morning now and we've already had a lot of teems breaking the rules yesterday, the idiots think they're bulletproof, they'll blame everyone else if they get the Covid too..

@Sandy

Quote:New Zealand has suffered its first coronavirus-related death, a woman in her 70s on the West Coast of the South Island.

The end begins . . . .

RE: RANDOM comments - Sandy - 03-29-2020

I caný confirm at present seeing I haven't checked todays news yet, I know as of last friday there was 2 people in intensive care, this lady may have been one of them, the other intensive care patient was in Nelson.. As of friday we had about 750 cases and 25 recovere from it..

Rather a pity the teens here are ignoring the fact we're on lockdown, 4 or 5 per car cruising in one car just for the sake of it is f***ing stooopid IMO, a lot were at it over the weekend seeing they were bored with stating indoors..

RE: RANDOM comments - Sandy - 03-30-2020

The person died about 30 hours ago, so around mid day sunday our time, it seems this death was an older person.. We're still under 600 cases and some 75 have recovered from Covid 10 as of linch time today,(monday) that was about 6 hours ago now.. I suspect we're better off than a lot of countries at present, surprising given a lot of tourists are ignoring our lockdown and getting round as usual, there was one case of in excess of 60 campers travelling north in a group and blocking off one side of oyr main state highway..
